The Tijuana Bible shoot was a while ago already, but I thought it was still worth posting some of my favorite images from the session. they had such a cool young rock star vibe, and bandleader Andy gave off a total 70s Rolling Stones vibe, so I was instantly inspired by that and decided to go for a grainy, high-contrast look much like the album jacket photos from the Exile on Main Street album.

A small group of photographers got together in downtown Austin to shoot lo-fi and on location on Saturday, and we had a great time. The purpose was to just have fun shooting creatively using popular iPhone apps like Instagram, Hipstamatic, 8mm, and Camera Awesome! I used mainly the Camera Awesome! app, along with a few shots using Instagram. All of the shots shown here are modified using Camera Awesome! The purpose of this photo shoot was to think a little less about technique and perfection and just go for creative composition and use the apps to enhance the already lo-fi nature of the iPhone camera.

From Palm Sunday to Resurrection Sunday was easily one of the most emotionally difficult seven day stretches of my life. Holy Week for my little section of the world was characterized by death, grieving, tragic loss, families torn apart and in crisis, and stressstressstress.
