On Saturday, however, when 50 local photographers gathered to walk 6th Street in downtown Austin, there was much fun, community, and “camera-derie.” Ha!

Model Session: Terrill

Perhaps one of the easiest parts of the shoot was getting Terrill’s eyes to really stand out. He did a good job of not only being aware of his face while posing, but putting emotion into his eyes. Here, I asked him to stare me down, and it turned out be one of the best photos of the day.

My friend Juju celebrated one year of her studio being open in Austin yesterday, so she threw a party. On hand to help celebrate, we had the Putas del Fuego roller derby team. They were super nice girls and a lot of fun to photograph.

Artist Session: Geronimo Son

I love shooting musicians in the studio because there are so many possibilities for shaping the mood and personality of the artist using light. I had a great time shooting Austin based blues guitarist/singer Geronimo Son, but I also did some really cool things in processing the images which enhanced and transformed the lighting of the studio.
